Disc Nation Ace Race October 20th, 2007 at Steeplechase Park in Kyle Texas
Come Join Disc Nation and the Steeplechase Disc Golf Club for what promises to be the most fun Discraft Ace Race around. The Ace Race is an event where each player throws 1 shot per hole, counting only the aces (holes in one) and the number of shots that hits the basket. To make this fun, all of the tees are shortened so that every hole is "Ace-able". To make this Ace Race extra fun, we're setting up a separate set of tees for children and ladies so that everyone,l regardless of ability, will have a chance at reaching the basket on every hole. We are focusing this even on family fun and are encouraging new comers to join in for their first round of disc golf.
For a very reasonable $20 entry fee, every player will receive 2 ESP plastic discs (collectible prototype discs), a Discraft hat, and an awesome full-color mini disc - a player's package valued at over $50. No kidding, this is a load of stuff! The winner will receive a disc golf set valued at over $300. Plus, Disc Nation will be having orther great give-aways and prizes. Players can register at the Disc Nation Superstore in Austin.

Twin Parks Ace Race September 30th, 2007 at Twin Parks Country Club in Dripping Springs Texas
What's a disc golfer to do after playing in the only PDGA Sanctioned Night Tournament? How about a 36 hole Discraft Ace Race? That's right, the folks at Twin Parks, not content with kickin' tail and takin' names the night before, are following up with a Discraft Ace Race. All of the tees are shorted up so that every hole can be reached with one shot. You only count the # of aces and # of times you hit metal. As if this wasn't enough, every player gets a $50+ players package with 2 prototype ESP discs, a hat, and a full-color mini. I think the real question is "Why wouldn't you play"? Call Twin Parks at 512-858-2924 for more details or to register.

| Disc Golf (also known as "Frisbee Golf" and "Folf" or "Frolf" and even "Disk Golf") is played much like traditional golf. Players use flying discs (golf discs or Frisbees®) and play holes that start with a tee area and end with a Disc Golf Basket or Target. The object: complete the hole by putting your golf disc in the basket in the fewest number of throws. The sport was formalized in the 1970s and is governed by the Professional Disc Golf Association (PDGA). There are more than 1,750 disc golf courses worldwide, with over 1,400 in the USA. |
